Venous leak is a vascular disorder in which the penis receives sufficient blood during sexual stimulation, but fails to retain that blood due to abnormal venous drainage. This occurs because the veins that normally close to trap blood during an erection remain partially or completely open, allowing blood to escape prematurely.

It is a well-recognized organic cause of erectile dysfunction (ED) and is particularly common in men who report that they can get an erection but cannot sustain it long enough for satisfactory intercourse.
